The P-Shot®

The P-Shot® — also known as the Priapus Shot® — is a treatment that uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood. It is offered at our Manhattan and Forest Hills offices as part of a cause-directed approach to men’s sexual health.

What platelet-rich plasma is

Platelet-rich plasma is a concentrated preparation made from a small sample of your own blood. The sample is processed to concentrate the platelets, which contain growth factors that the body naturally uses in tissue repair. Because the PRP comes from your own body, the treatment does not introduce a foreign drug.

How the treatment works

The process is straightforward and performed in-office:

• A small blood sample is drawn, much like a routine blood test.
• The sample is processed to prepare the platelet-rich plasma.
• The PRP is then administered to specific areas. A numbing agent is used for comfort.

The appointment is completed in a single visit, and most men return to their normal routine the same day.

Treating the cause, not the symptom

This is the central idea behind the P-Shot®. Oral ED medications work on demand — they support an erection for a few hours and are taken before each occasion. They are a legitimate and effective choice for many men, but they manage the symptom rather than the underlying tissue health.
