ED may involve vascular, neurologic, hormonal, medication-related or psychological factors. Evaluation identifies relevant causes and established treatment options; shockwave therapy remains investigational.
Peyronie’s disease can cause penile curvature and pain. Evaluation should distinguish pain management from treatments intended to address curvature; shockwave therapy should not be presented as proven to straighten the penis.
A change in sexual function deserves an individual assessment. Evidence does not establish shockwave therapy as preventive treatment to maintain sexual performance in men without ED.
A Simple Process
Dr. Shusterman evaluates penile blood flow, hormone levels, and other contributing factors to understand the cause of your symptoms.
Based on your evaluation, a tailored treatment protocol is recommended — typically a series of short in-office sessions.
Each session takes roughly 20 minutes. The shockwave device is applied to several areas; most men find it comfortable.
Progress is reviewed over time, and your plan is adjusted as needed to support the best possible outcome.
